Carolina Soares completes Postgraduate Programme in Labour Law

June 27, 2025
VFA lawyer Carolina Soares has just completed the Postgraduate Programme in Labour Law at the Institute for Business and Labour Law of the Faculty of Law, University of Coimbra.
This programme covered key and emerging topics in Labour Law, such as digital platform work, remote work, collective dismissal, parental rights, gender equality, data protection, the right to disconnect, and public sector employment contracts. The sessions were delivered by a distinguished faculty comprising academics, magistrates, and lawyers from various leading universities and institutions.
Upon completing the programme, Carolina shared her thoughts on the experience:
“I feel that this Postgraduate Programme was essential, on the one hand, to deepen and consolidate knowledge I had acquired during my law degree, and on the other, from a more practical perspective, to gain insight into labour law processes and procedures—something I felt was very necessary, as I now work with Labour Law on a daily basis. I found the discussions and teachings particularly interesting, especially on topics that are increasingly relevant globally, and above all, in the employment relationship (whether employer vs. employee or employee vs. employee), such as the protection of workers’ personal data, moral and sexual harassment in the workplace, and equality and non-discrimination.”
Commenting on Carolina’s participation, Paulo Valério, Managing Partner at VFA, noted:
“At VFA, we are proud of Carolina’s work and her commitment to continuous learning, which is a key factor in ensuring we can advise our clients in Labour Law with ever-increasing quality.”
